Console-only Gundam VS fans rejoice as the 5th generation of the series has been announced at the 2016 Tokyo Game Show! Named simply “Gundam Versus,” this new game makes its debut only on the Playstation 4 and is apparently a clean break from the EXVS series. You’ll still get the 2v2 team battle action the series is best known for, but not much is known outside of that currently. From a previous interview with the Gundam VS team at Bandai Namco, they’re also looking heavily into a worldwide release. As the Tokyo Game Show just started, we expect to hear more features from the title and hopefully a release date to follow. From the announcement trailer below,  you’ll see the RX-78-2, Gundam Barbatos, Full Armor Gundam (Thunderbolt), Gundam Unicorn, and Gundam Exia in action with a brand new sheen to their visuals. Check it out!

HELL YES!! Finally! Also I noticed that the new art style is kinda familiar. Gundam Breaker 3, anyone? Anyways, here’s hoping an English subbed release, at least.

OH YEAH!! Really glad I got my PS4 for GB3 now! Looking forward to this! Wonder what new units and arenas will be added? Hopefully some improved frame rate will come with those beautiful visuals!

Most likely. I mean Maxi Boost & Maxi On was all running at 60fps at the arcades so it probably won’t be an issue. Me, I’m gonna die a happy man if they added all the TV version of the Gundams from Wing(which are available in Maxi Boost). Hell, add in some mook or even Boss suits for us play around with like the Leo or Psycho Gundam. That would make things interesting.
