Looks like next-gen arcade hardware is looming in the near future as Namco is supposedly creating a new arcade board to house its upcoming games, such as the sequel to the Gundam Versus series. Dubbed the “System 478”, the hardware is rumored to be based off of PS4 tech, similar to how the System 357 and System 256 boards were based off of the PS3 and PS2 respectively. The two previous arcade boards ran the Gundam Extreme Versus series and prior Gundam Versus games to include A.E.U.G. vs Titans to Gundam vs Gundam Next. Here’s to hoping we find out more information on the arcade board and the eventual Gundam Versus sequel during the upcoming 2013 Tokyo Game Show!

I can’t think of any suits I want t see in the game anymore.

I’m more curious as to what functionally changes with the new game. As Extreme Versus really modified many of the series’ core mechanics.

More gauges, more super modes, more cancels.Probably your standard fighting game sequel additions.I would be surprised if they abandoned the EXVS frame work.

I dunno, Byking reworked the fundamental mechanics with Extreme Versus compared to the previous Gundam Vs games. I expect/hope a similar generational shift will occur again.

Where else could it go?I can’t think of anything.

Many, many ways…

I would be okay with a return to the slower, ground poundy combat of the first couple games if it was still handled well.

I forgot Advance of Zeta.

Crossbone Ghost, Gundam AGE, Gundam thunderbolt, more Wing Gundam TV, Musha and Knight Gundam etc.

Testament Gundam and out of frame pls

not sure my eyeballs are ready for this.

EX VS is almost so perfect that I’m not sure what a new game could offer other than a new coat of paint. My dream game is just EX VS combined with SRW after all.

From the old rumor:

-New entry in the VS series will launch sometime between June and August next year and has the following MSes: Legilis, AGE-2, Bearguy, Beginning, Build Strike, Zaku Amazing, Shin Musha and Shin Knight.”

Hopefully we could see more stuff than these though.

Also G-Unit pls.
