Toys: Robot Damashii Skull Heart Full Cloth Announced

Bandai have announced that the much loved XM-X1 Crossbone Gundam X-1 Kai Kai “Skull Heart” will be getting the Robot Damashii treatment. This being the mobile suit piloted by the perky Tobia Arronax in both the Skull Heart and Steel 7 manga. This is a slightly strange release, as the other Crossbone Gundam mobile suits were released a fair few years ago (thankfully we managed to pick them up at the time, as they’re quite rare these days). Released in May for 5,940 yen this is one of the more averagely priced toys in the range and one we’ll be definitely be picking up come release.

Dengeki Online has a plethora of information regarding the day one DLC of Gundam Extreme Versus Full Boost for the PS3. Not only does it provide images of the available HUDs, Navis, and pilot costumes, it also reveals you can even purchase costumes for your Navigators as well for 300 yen, such as a “plain clothed” Meer Campbell and the normal suit version of Feldt Grace. Remember, this is not all of the available DLC, so we will update you on what’s to come next. Don’t forget that you can also download the Lacus-piloted Infinite Justice and Johnny Ridden’s Zaku II High Mobility for free. To see them and Ex-S Gundam in action, check out the video below. Hope to see y’all online!

Following on from our previous Revoltech reviews, our good friends at HobbyLink Japan have sent us the Riobot Jehuty. Now, whilst we aren’t huge fans of the Zone of the Enders series, we’ve always admired the mecha designs that Yoji Shinkawa did for the game. So we’re obviously happy to see more toys made of his work. We’ve also included some game footage at the end of the review.

We now have a promo for the recently announced Gundam Gaiden Missing Link. It shows a fair bit of gameplay and whilst it looks serviceable, the camera and mobile suit movement looks a bit off. As expected, there’s a pretty badass Efreet shown as well as a caped mystery mobile suit (that will be designed just for the game). By the way the promo is structured it looks like this will be a narrative focused, as in singleplayer campaign, type of game. However, considering that Namco Bandai are on a bit of a freemium spree at the moment we’re not sure how this game will turn out. No word as to a release date or price as yet either. Overall, we’re somewhat curious but a little wary of how this might turn out.

Courtesy of our good friends at HobbyLink Japan we’ve been sent the Robot Damashii Hi-Nu Gundam as seen in the novel Beltorchika’s Children (one of the adaptations for Char’s Counterattack). In addition, we’ve also included some game footage of the mecha in action at the end of the review.

stuff

In the latest Famitsu, the next batch of DLC for Gundam Extreme Versus Full Boost will arrive on February 5, 2014. In a rather interesting decision, Quatre’s Wing Gundam Zero (2500 cost) and Shin Matsunaga’s Zaku II High Mobility (2000 cost) will be available for download for 400 yen each. Now if these units look rather familiar, it’s because they’re technically already in the game, but with different pilots. Mechanically, it appears their movesets are the same as well, similar to how the Lacus controlled Infinite Justice works. Units with cost revisions will more than likely have their damage, health, and boost changed accordingly. Aside from different burst attacks and a new assist for Matsunaga’s Zaku that replaces Johnny Ridden’s special movement, we won’t really know how different these units will be until we get them in our hands and try it out for ourselves. Does this also set a precedent for future DLC units in Full Boost? I personally never mind more Zaku II love, but I wouldn’t mind more variety out the gate especially with the announced Maxi Boost roster. Then again, this game has 98 units prior to these additions, so variety shouldn’t be an issue to begin with. We’ll update you as we find out more.

missinglink_announce1

After a recent hint in Famitsu we now have an outright announcement, that of a new Gundam Gaiden game called Missing Link. This will be third person PS3 game with emphasis on customisation and wingman control. The latter will also be pretty close to that of Zeonic Front, as you can hot-swap between your wingmen. The really interesting stuff though is that the RX-78XX Gundam Pixie has been mentioned. This came from really the first ever Gundam Gaiden game there is, Cross Dimension 0079. Not only did it feature a badass MS-08TX Efreet but it also had character designs by Toshihiro Kawamoto. If all this sounds familiar, well much of these elements have resurfaced across multiple gaiden games over the years. To further cheer you up, Masahiko Tokushima (of former White Dingo Team fame) will be helming this new game. Admittedly this will be developed by “B.B. Studio” but all that really means is that some of the Bandai developer legion will be assigned to this project. Trying to judge whether it will be be bobbins based off the studio in this case is somewhat moot, as Bandai have a lot of crossover internally and a distinct studio structure doesn’t really exist. Anyway, the more we find out about Missing Link then we’ll be sure to post about it.
