News: Senjou no Kizuna California Base Update

Posted on : 27-07-2011 | By : | In : News, Videos

Game Watch has a new piece on Rev 3.01 for Senjou no Kizuna. Despite having two new mobile suits; in the form of the RX-78GP01 Gundam “Zephyranthes” and the AGX-04 Gerbera Tetra, it also sports a new map (that of the California Base). This new level also has a slew of HLVs dotted across the area, which launch at various points too, as well as a large mass driver separating the map. We’ve linked a new video below and it’s also clear that the Rev 3 update also massively improved the game’s lighting and particle system. The update goes live on Friday 29th July. In addition the Gundam you see at the beginning of the video below, if you’re at all curious, is the RX-78-6 Mudrock Gundam that was prominently featured in the rather awesome PS2 game Zeonic Front.

They could totally try to port this to PS3/Xbox360, the whole first person-I’m in a gundam feel might be somewhat lost, but it could definitely work!

Anymore videos like this by the way?

Yep, quite a lot actually. Here’s one of the New York level:

I too am surprised the Bamco isn’t eager to port this.

And then you and I realized there’s a downgraded PSP port.

It’s not that downgraded though, as the arcade board and PSP hardware are surprisingly close in terms of power (compared to the Gundam Vs games lets say).

I torrented it (yeah, yeah…), I’ll give it a shot to see if I like it.

And there’s always the possibility of a full port after the timed releases/patches are done.

You were right, it’s not that downgraded. A bit less anti-aliasing, low res textures but other than that it’s pretty intact I guess.

I was quite aware of the PSP port and Im also quite aware that its a few revisions behind.I meant a fully realized console port.

I’d love that. But the PSP port is decent, takes a lot of getting used to.
