Over at Game Watch it seems that the Japanese release date for Front Mission Evolved has been confirmed as the 16th September. Interestingly, the article also talks of a release on Steam. The US release, confirmed in the trailer below, is two days before the Japanese one; on the 14th September. Naturally, upon release, we’ll be reviewing the game – so keep an eye out for that.

Could they have picked a worse date? And they even announce this after. For those that don’t know many will be already out $60 or more that week depending on what version they get. Reach falls

Hmmm, I really want to like this but I’ve heard bad things from people working on this. Hopefully the extra time will help to turn things around. Actually, every movie I see looks really good, so here’s hoping!

What are some of the things you have heard…?

I just heard production described as a clusterf*ck by people trying leave the developer, but that was months ago. And, it’s anecdotal so I’m hoping things are OK there.
Still pulling for this game!

Seeing as how this new footage is looking much better than initial game play, it seems to me like a large number of improvements have been made. Wether or not that remains true is something I await.

Armored Core 1 meets Front Mission 5, too bad the tbs gameplay is gone takes intelligent strategy out of the window and invites run and gun tactics.

And this is bad, because…?

I don’t understand this criticism since there are 5 different Front Mission Games to do turn based strategy with. And if you are comparing it to Armored Core 1, how does intelligent strategy go out the window? You still have to manage weapon types, armor, parts and how they all work together in a real time against multiple enemies.
