Following the new promo we now have 11 minutes of gameplay footage for Masoukishin F. It mostly shows the introduction of Sakito Asagi, a new character for this game. Bar that it’s good to see the whole game on show and not just the battle animations. It’s looking good too. The game is out on August 28th and you can pre-order it here.

Would it really be all that bad if they used a more active battle mecnaic? Like something based on Xcom?

Depends which XCOM, anyway turn based strategy works for chess!

Turn based strategy which which resolves itself in real time phases.

Well the sorta did that with Scramble Commander games, though that mixed some RTS in there too. You played those at all?

Just watched it on Youtube. Can see why that style of gameplay isn’t around.

Thinking of something better structured where you plot out movement then see things resolve on their own. Something that likely needs better AI than I’ve seen in the last few years.

You can do that in SC2, as well as manual control. It also has the battle animations from classic SRW, as you can initiate those within a certain range of a target.
