4Gamer have managed to cover two new gameplay videos for Carnage Heart EXA. The first video shows the traditional AI controlled OKEs battling it out based of the programming they’ve been given, whereas the second video shows the manual control mode in action. It’s clear that Artdink’s recent mecha gaming expertise on the PSP has paid dividends with EXA. Whilst we were deeply disappointed with Gundam Assault Survive, it’s nice to see Artdink go back to their roots like this and it’s clear from this videos that EXA will be excellent.

This really looks fantastic, almost like a cross between Armored Core and Custom Robo. It’s a shame I wouldn’t be able to really appreciate it in Japanese (since I can barely make a decent OKE program in the original) so I’m really hoping for that slim chance of a US release.

Or a fan translation. Front Mission 5 got one finished recently, which is no guarantee for CHEXA, but it raises hopes a little.

I just looked more into the programming and the tiles apparently do use English so I suppose a translation would be possible. Unfortunately unlike FM5 translation I have no way to play a translation of this. Sigh.
