While Monster Hunter was obviously something they were looking to for inspiration, from the trailers we've seen and the demo we've been able to play, it's probably a good bet that there's story scenes to explain the large climate changes since the first game and update us about the new developments in technology since then. Also am I the only one thinking of Final Wars when watching the trailer? you know the super powered humans that fight the monsters, the only thing missing from that movie was mecha's but if their was to be a game of that movie this would be it.
