News: Mecha Damashii visits the full scale Gundam in Shizuoka

After much anticipation, we finally got to visit the 1/1 scale Real Grade Gundam now in Shizuoka. It is an epically wonderful thing and utterly massive. Naturally to commemorate the event we took pictures, these are available after the jump.

To reach the full scale Gundam from Tokyo, you’ll want to get the shinkansen. It should cost around 6,000 yen one way (for Hikari and Kodama) and it will take you to Shizuoka main’s station. You’ll then need to get a train to Higashi-Shizuoka Station, which you pass on the way in. Don’t worry your shinkansen ticket should cover the additional stop.

To say you can’t miss the Gundam from the station is obviously a bit of an understatement and thankfully the entrance is free. There are plenty of food stalls around the area, as well as mini-Gundam Cafe too. The Bandai Hobby Center is also situated nearby but if you want to visit that as well you’ll need to make a booking on its site. Anyway, on with the pictures. Enjoy!

Great pictures, wish I could see this irl, it must be overwhelming.

Very impressive, but it’s not as good as being there :'(
I did not know about the effect of lightsaber that causes melting of the lower base

I think it’s a good detail 😛

GUUNDAAAAMUUUUUUUU

No night-time beam saber shots? Or are you saving those for another post? Hope you returned to see it at night!

Ah, the pilgrimage to mecha.

The mecca of mecha even.

Hello sirs/misses I wish you all a Happy new year, and I wanted to show my grate respect to all of you for this incredible miga piece of art.
I was wondering if you the oner or the designer with all respect for them, have made more than one reboot. How mach this beautiful reboot might cost.
Incase if this is the only reboot can you beld the same one rightaway?
How long time , and how much money would it be to bay the same one?
