News: Gundam Versus Announcement

Well, it’s about that time of year again and the AOU show is almost upon us. Unsurprisingly a new Gundam Versus game has been announced. No specifics on the game are available as yet but it will be interesting to see if Capcom still opt for PlayStation 2 era arcade hardware. With any luck we may even see Capcom opt for the new Ring Edge board used in Border Break, as it would allow cross country networking amongst other things (something that a multiplayer focused series such as this would obviously benefit from). Anyway, conjecture aside, we’ll know more in a few days.

Interesting as today I was actually considering buying a PSP just so I could finally play Gundam Vs Next, I havent played a Vs game since ZaftII, I hate that they put the series on psp as good as the games have been.

I hope you’re right and they make the big switch which will lead to ps3 release, which has a far better chance of proper online play, which is what Ive been crying out for on these games for years!!

Its looking like a great year for mecha games indeed.

I quite enjoy the Vs. games, and honestly miss my long gone copy of G vs. ZG. I am wondering what direction they are gonna go in with it, though. Will it be another Gundam vs. Gundam, or perhaps an Alternate universe Gundam vs. game, with just stuff outside of UC, or what exactly?

Lets hope for a very pleasant surprise, in any case.
