Three more mobile suits will be added to the PS3 version of Gundam Extreme Versus Full Boost on February 19, according to the latest Famitsu. The suits that will be added for 400 yen each are the Patrick Colasour’s GN-XIII, Kamille’s Gundam Mk-II (Titan’s ver.), and Lunamaria’s Impulse Gundam. Each of these units will respectively have unit costs of 1000, 1000, and 2000. Aside from the GN-XIII, the other units are essentially clones of existing units with certain omissions and cost adjustments, like the Quatre Wing Zero TV. For those of you who were expecting completely new units or hand-me downs from the upcoming Maxi Boost sequel, you will be rather disappointed. Granted these units may have been added to be geared towards fans of the overarching Gundam series, the unit additions feel rather redundant due to the fact that there aren’t that many changes to the units themselves aside from the removal of certain movesets. On top of that, it does feel like there hasn’t been much effort to truly differentiate the clone versions over their original versions aside from the voice acting, cost adjustments, and color changes. If new animations and major gameplay changes were added to them instead of copying and pasting existing animations, that in itself would go a long way in legitimizing a purchase for many people. Don’t get me wrong, there is always the valid argument of the simply not purchasing the DLC since the game already provides a plethora of units to choose from. In fact nearly 100 in total are available, not including the free DLC to begin with! Perhaps the expectations are too high considering the previous DLC offerings for the vanilla version of Gundam Extreme Versus, but I tend to be part of the problem as I’ll get them anyway to keep my game roster “complete.” We’ll update you more as new units are announced.

Oh man that GN-XIII is a great surprise. I love it when underpowered units make it into this game! I’m holding out for Mercurius and Vayeate from Wing.

I think the main thing with this is:
1. They don’t wanna frontend too many new units in FB, because of Maxi Boost getting pushed. Even the DLC for the original game didn’t come out after a long time. We aren’t gonna see Maxi Boost units until that game is fully out most likely, and even then, they might take some time because they’d have to adjust the systems to be more like FB’s, when some of the new moves rely heavily on the new EX OVerdrive system and whatnot.

2. With the reduced price of DLC and whatnot, it doesn’t really bug me, and I see it more as just picking up an alternate pilot/mobile suit coloring. For instance, as a huge

This was less for you Cacophanus and more for others, since I think it’s only a matter of time before the internet whine machine starts screaming about clones here too. Way too many places are freaking out about this and to me it’s… really kinda uncalled for and dumb. If anything I’d be more annoyed if we were getting a TON of really good completely new units in the first weeks, rather than some clones that really don’t mess with the meta or feel of the game and are mostly there as fanservice.

The DLC unit for EXVS came out a month after the game and they were all new units (that got put into Full Boost). Blue Destiny, Arche. The O. The price is reduced by what? 400 YEN? In return we get every other piece of customization for 100-350 YEN. I don’t know, man. I’m not eating Bamco’s shit.

Wait what? They didn’t come out after a month O_o They came out after a year. And then the second set of DLC came out in 2013.

Sorry, it appears I was wrong. The-O and Gottralatan, Freedom and Zeong did come out in the first month.

However, BD-1 and Arche didn’t come out until 2012. And the other 6 DLC units were also not out until December 2012/January 2013.

Also, the guest below was me, I tried deleting the comment because it turns out I didn’t fact check fully on the issue, Disqus glitched however, I was just going off the comments made in my small Full Boost group, which they usually said the DLC came 1 year after the game was out. It turns out they were wrong for the first 4.
