It should be noted that SC2 runs much smoother and is less extensive on the system than SC1. If you're still having doubts however, you can pick up the demo off of Steam and see for yourself.

Also, that X on the title screen looks a lot like the X on the Xenogears cover:

hey Tollmaster, you seem to have quite a bit of knowledge running Japanese games. For some reason I cant get Super Cosplay War Ultra to run. Even though i've done pretty much everything to get any japanese game to run on my pc. I've gotten almost every other japanese game to run, but that one just doesn't want to work.

My 2.0ghz Core 2 Duo Macbook with GForce 9400M plays SC 1 pretty well as long as you don't try using an additional display, and you have the detail turned down pretty medium-ish. The game is 1-2 years older than this machine though (not sure how may laptops, if any, could run SC1 well when it was released) so I assume I'll have a similar wait for SC2.

So? Fix it.

Today's modelers are such tremendous wimps. This thing looks pretty durable compared to something like one of those 100 yen Skateboy kits, or the Dougram models with the rubber band joints.

True story: when we saw the Loto first appear onscreen, me and the guy watching it with me did a fistbump.

I kind of approve of the idea of the Loto being used as a Dancougar foot. It's that's something they want to revisit in a G Gundam side story, I say they should go for it. I bet the Acguy would make for a good left arm.

I'm in the same boat you are. My quad-core PC can barely run Supreme Commander 1, and while I'd love to play the sequel and get a good look at the next generation of everyone's favorite post-scarcity economy construction robots, I don't want to spend 300 bucks on a graphics card capable of of playing the game at 15 FPS at low resolution.

I can't say anything about the second one obviously, but the first Lost Planet, while a bit light on plot, did attempt to give out a lot of background about the history of human settlement on the planet, and the various factions fighting for control of the world and/or human survival in a hostile environment populated by even more hostile alien creatures.

While Monster Hunter was obviously something they were looking to for inspiration, from the trailers we've seen and the demo we've been able to play, it's probably a good bet that there's story scenes to explain the large climate changes since the first game and update us about the new developments in technology since then.

Doing a Google Search for "Microsoft Applocale", and then getting East Asian Language support on your version of Windows will solve a good 75% of the problems with getting Japanese doujin games to work.

Another common problem is that the path name might be too long; if you're used to extracting files into a folder with the original rar or zip's name, you might run into a problem where there are a lot of nested folders inside, and if you're in, say, C:\Documents and Settings\... already you might reach a character limit for the path name. Usually not a problem with original Japanese packaged zips and rars, but sometimes if an English speaker decides to store a freeware doujin game, he'll add developer name, what Comiket the demo it appeared at, the game's full title, etc. into the file name, which makes the problem even more likely. All because the archivist wanted to make sure the original author of the freeware game/demo got credit!
