What with this year’s Tokyo Game Show over, there are all manner of new things flying around. Some of these are to do with the upcoming Super Robot Wars OG Infinite Battle brawler out on November 28th. The new promo (shown below) pretty much covers the same ground as the first and emphasises the fact that the game aint a looker. We’re also somewhat concerned at how the various mecha are moving, as our mecha sense is tingling somewhat. To be more specific, the game looks damn unwieldy but until we get to play it we won’t know for sure. Again, the fact that this is an in-house job does worry us. Especially as Banpresto’s track record with mecha action games is sketchy at best. In addition, there’s also a new Dark Prison promo too. Don’t forget that you can pre-order the game here.

We now know that the new 1/60 scale YF-19 by Arcadia will be released in April 2014 for the eye watering price of 32,800 yen. Admittedly this isn’t just a re-release of Yamato’s old 1/60 toy but all new and based off the engineering used in the Fire Valkyrie toy. It also comes with a lot of extra missiles and the FAST packs seen towards the end of Macross Plus. Still, the price is a lot more than we were expecting. No wonder Yamato went bankrupt!

At a Tamashii Nations event in Hong Kong, Bandai have revealed all manner of new toys in their Robot Damashii line. Notable of which are the NZ-666 Kshatriya and the majestic RX-93-ν2 Hi-Nu Gundam (pictured above). Whilst it is called a “GUMDAN” in various photos, that spelling mistake can’t dampen our palpable joy at knowing a Hi-Nu toy is on the way. Whilst there are no release details present, such as date and price, we are guessing that these two figures might end up as a web shop exclusive (though we’re hoping they won’t). Either way, today is a happy day as the Hi-Nu is probably our favourite Gundam design and as soon as we know more about these toys we’ll be sure to post it.

At the Chara Hobby 2013 show this weekend, Bandai will be bringing along a 3D printed version of the planned Soul of Chogokin Spec Layzner Mk2 (shown above). This is the updated CG model based on the first round of feedback, though there is another questionnaire now to give feedback on these changes too. It seems that the newer iteration is somewhat chunkier and beefier looking, this we approve of. Still no word on release date or pricing but we’ll be keeping an eye out as we want this toy pretty damn badly!

Those nice people at Plum have announced a new kits of the Power Loader X-4 from Power Dolls. Whilst there was an anime OVA for this series, it actually started out as a successful series of turn based strategy games for various platforms in Japan. At 1/35 scale, the kit will cost around 8,000 yen and be released this November. Thus far, Plum have been making truly excellent mecha kits and this looks like to be no exception. Following on from their AGNI kit, Kotobukiya have revealed Vengeance. This is basically the same design as the Super Robot Chokogin toy but is actually a more faithful representation (in terms of colouring and decals) to an enemy seen at the end of Armored Core V. In short this also means it has the Grind Blade (pictured above), which unsurprisingly requires its own stand. The kit will be released this December and you can pre-order it here

Following on from Bandai’s reveal of a Super Robot Chogokon Shin Getter-1, we’ll also be getting a Mazinkaiser too later in the year. Whilst this design was featured in an OVA, its origins stem from the Super Robot Wars games. Over the years we’ve bought all manner of toy variants of this design from the Aoshima figures as well as the Max Factory and even Revoltech versions. However, this looks like a great little toy and unlike the previous bigger releases this won’t cost crazy amounts either. Priced at a very reasonable 6,800 yen and released in November, this Mazinkaiser looks great. If you’re at all tempted you can also pre-order the toy here.
