Namco Bandai have released a new promotional video for the upcoming Gundam Extreme Versus Maxi Boost arcade game, due out on March 6, 2014 in Japan. The video showcases several new additions to the Maxi Boost roster such as Penelope Gundam, Hyperion Gundam, Gundam AGE-1, AGE-2, Gundam Astray Red Frame Kai, and Brave Commander Type. Other neat changes include God Gundam properly riding Fuunsaiki akin to the Mobile Armor modes of other units in the game. They also show off the EX Overdrive gameplay system which activates after certain conditions are met. The F-Drive boosts your melee prowess allowing you to guard break opponents and the S-Drive allows you to practically continuously fire off all your ranged attacks without having to worry about boost dash canceling. Make sure you check out the video below and see all the aforementioned changes to the latest sequel in the Extreme Versus series!

Famitsu has the latest scoop on the next three DLC units to come to Gundam Extreme Versus Full Boost on March 5th. The units are Roux Louka’s Zeta Gundam (2000 Cost), Haman’s Acguy (2000 Cost), and Shiro’s Ground Gundam (1000 Cost). Like previous DLC units that were recommissioned clones of existing units, these three will have similar movesets with minor additions and omissions. For example, Haman’s Acguy jumps up a cost grade from 1000 to 2000, giving the unit 580 HP and Newtype pressure as its burst attack versus the original rolling Acguy army. Like before, these units will cost 400 yen each.

Today, Tecmo Koei Publishing revealed they will be bringing Shin Gundam Musou to the US and EU as Dynasty Warriors Gundam Reborn in Summer 2014. Another interesting thing to note is that it has only been listed for the PS3. The Vita version is currently absent from the press release so there is a possibility it will not come over.

For those of you waiting for any new information regarding the state of the upcoming Monolith Soft RPG “X” for the Wii U, the recent Nintendo Direct has shown two minutes of brand new gameplay footage. Using an upgraded version of the battle system from Xenoblade, the video shows the playable characters battling monkey-esque creatures on foot and in their mecha, called Dolls. Having logged in nearly 100 hours in Xenoblade, I personally cannot wait to get my hands on this game. The enemy AI looks to be lacking in this vid, but I’m sure that will be remedied as they get further along with the game. Be sure to check out the video below!

News: Gundam Extreme Versus Full Boost Second DLC Update

Three more mobile suits will be added to the PS3 version of Gundam Extreme Versus Full Boost on February 19, according to the latest Famitsu. The suits that will be added for 400 yen each are the Patrick Colasour’s GN-XIII, Kamille’s Gundam Mk-II (Titan’s ver.), and Lunamaria’s Impulse Gundam. Each of these units will respectively have unit costs of 1000, 1000, and 2000. Aside from the GN-XIII, the other units are essentially clones of existing units with certain omissions and cost adjustments, like the Quatre Wing Zero TV. For those of you who were expecting completely new units or hand-me downs from the upcoming Maxi Boost sequel, you will be rather disappointed. Granted these units may have been added to be geared towards fans of the overarching Gundam series, the unit additions feel rather redundant due to the fact that there aren’t that many changes to the units themselves aside from the removal of certain movesets. On top of that, it does feel like there hasn’t been much effort to truly differentiate the clone versions over their original versions aside from the voice acting, cost adjustments, and color changes. If new animations and major gameplay changes were added to them instead of copying and pasting existing animations, that in itself would go a long way in legitimizing a purchase for many people. Don’t get me wrong, there is always the valid argument of the simply not purchasing the DLC since the game already provides a plethora of units to choose from. In fact nearly 100 in total are available, not including the free DLC to begin with! Perhaps the expectations are too high considering the previous DLC offerings for the vanilla version of Gundam Extreme Versus, but I tend to be part of the problem as I’ll get them anyway to keep my game roster “complete.” We’ll update you more as new units are announced.

Dengeki Online has a plethora of information regarding the day one DLC of Gundam Extreme Versus Full Boost for the PS3. Not only does it provide images of the available HUDs, Navis, and pilot costumes, it also reveals you can even purchase costumes for your Navigators as well for 300 yen, such as a “plain clothed” Meer Campbell and the normal suit version of Feldt Grace. Remember, this is not all of the available DLC, so we will update you on what’s to come next. Don’t forget that you can also download the Lacus-piloted Infinite Justice and Johnny Ridden’s Zaku II High Mobility for free. To see them and Ex-S Gundam in action, check out the video below. With the official Gundam Extreme VS Maxi Boost website finally up, it confirms the addition of Shining Gundam and Gundam AGE-2 to the Maxi Boost roster. Shining Gundam last appeared in Gundam vs Gundam Next Plus for the PSP, whereas Gundam AGE-2 is a newcomer to the series. It’s always nice seeing Shining come back to the fighting fray and it appears Gundam AGE-2 will also be able to switch into its Double Bullet form. Also, it looks as if the Full Armor variant of Gundam Unicorn will be in the game as well. Perhaps that form is related to the EX Overdrive mode that has been added into the game. We will continue to update you as more information comes along.

stuff

In the latest Famitsu, the next batch of DLC for Gundam Extreme Versus Full Boost will arrive on February 5, 2014. In a rather interesting decision, Quatre’s Wing Gundam Zero (2500 cost) and Shin Matsunaga’s Zaku II High Mobility (2000 cost) will be available for download for 400 yen each. Now if these units look rather familiar, it’s because they’re technically already in the game, but with different pilots. Mechanically, it appears their movesets are the same as well, similar to how the Lacus controlled Infinite Justice works. Units with cost revisions will more than likely have their damage, health, and boost changed accordingly. Aside from different burst attacks and a new assist for Matsunaga’s Zaku that replaces Johnny Ridden’s special movement, we won’t really know how different these units will be until we get them in our hands and try it out for ourselves. Does this also set a precedent for future DLC units in Full Boost? I personally never mind more Zaku II love, but I wouldn’t mind more variety out the gate especially with the announced Maxi Boost roster. Then again, this game has 98 units prior to these additions, so variety shouldn’t be an issue to begin with. We’ll update you as we find out more.
