Following on from our previous Revoltech Jehuty, Revoltech Jehuty (Anubis Version) and Revoltech Jehuty with Vector Cannon reviews, our good friends at HobbyLink Japan have sent us the Revoltech Naked Jehuty. This being the final and most powerful incarnation of Jehuty from the end of Anubis. In addition, we’ve also included some game footage of the mecha in action at the end of the review.

Toys: Revoltech Ardjet Release Announced

In a nice move of not making yet another Jehuty toy, Kaiyodo have followed up with a toy of the orbital frame Ardjet this March. As with all Revoltechs, Ardjet looks to have decent articulation and won’t cost the earth. Whilst this feels like extended marketing for the ZOE HD Collection, it’s nice to see one of the lesser orbital frames from Anubis get the toy treatment. You can pre-order Ardjet here.

The forthcoming Revoltech Naked Jehuty has been given an Amazon.co.jp listing and it reveals not only its release date, that of January 15th next year, but also the very reasonable price point of 3,480 yen. Again part of the whole never ending PR for Zone of the Enders HD Collection, the design appeared at the end of Anubis and was intended to be Jehuty’s “final” form. Apparently, this toy will also be able to use the other peripherals released for the other Revoltech Jehuty toys.

Following on from the Naked Jehuty announcement, it now also seems that a Revoltech of the Ardjet orbital frame (shown above) will also be released at some point in the future. It’s a slightly strange choice for a figure, as Ardjet is a rather minor antagonist and lacks the same kind of fan fervour generated by Vic Viper. In any case, it seems that Konami are keen to pump these Zone of the Enders toys out to help promote the HD versions released in October.

Following on from our previous Revoltech Jehuty and Revoltech Jehuty (Anubis Version) reviews, our good friends at HobbyLink Japan have sent us the Revoltech Jehuty with Vector Cannon. This being the special super weapon of sorts that Jehuty acquires towards the end of Anubis. Due to the fact it already uses the base Jehuty figure, we’ve only covered the new Vector Cannon elements. In addition, we’ve also included some game footage at the end of the review.

Toys: Revoltech Jehuty With Vector Cannon Revealed

In typical Hideo Kojima fashion, yet another Revoltech Jehuty has been revealed but this time sporting an all new colour scheme and a very beefy Vector Cannon (pictured above). The latter is probably one of the most powerful weapons the player had access to in Anubis and was an actual necessity on some enemies (as shown in the video below). However, in contrast to the emphasis on mobility that the game was focused around the Vector Cannon required the player to be grounded and stationary in order to fire (it even had a rather long charge time too). Considering that this will be the third Jehuty Revoltech we are starting to feel that Kojima et al are milking it a bit now. Like with all Revoltechs though, this toy likely won’t break the bank thankfully. It will also be on sale mid-June with any luck too. Unfortunately, there’s still no word on when the HD collection will be out nor whatever happened to the mysterious 3DS game but in the meantime they seem fine to placate us with more toys.

Following on from our Revoltech Jehuty (Anubis Version) review, our good friends at HobbyLink Japan have sent us the Revoltech Anubis (from the game of the same name). Now, whilst we aren’t huge fans of the Zone of the Enders series, we’ve always loved the designs that Yoji Shinkawa penned for the games. We’ve also included some game footage at the end of the review.

Toys: Anubis Revoltech Announced

What with this year’s Tokyo Game Show in full swing, Konami aren’t missing a trick and have surreptitiously displayed some new Revoltech figures from Anubis (as captured over at Gigazine). Namely an updated Jehuty, with a new colour scheme and additional parts, but also of the game’s namesake; the beastly Anubis itself (shown above). As we often say, we’re not fond of the games but we adore the design-work. The new Jehuty will be released this November for 2,980 yen and Anubis will be out in December for 3,480 yen. You can buy both toys here and here.

News: Zone of the Enders 3DS hinted at

In a recent tweet by Hideo Kojima, he says “Found this at Omori-kun’s desk. What’s this?” and then links to the above picture. Despite the Revoltech Jehuty in the foreground, the text in the background does intimate that a 3DS Zone of the Enders game could be on the cards. As for who Omori-kun is, it’s more likely to be the developer that worked on a large number of Kojima’s games, rather than the animator who shares the same name. Either way, this is interesting news and makes more sense from a development cost point of view considering the limited popularity of the series. In that securing the large investment to fund a full blown 360 or PS3 game without the ability to guarantee a decent return, based on the prior sales of the games in the series, means that a 3DS port could be more viable in terms of the initial funding required.
